Interested in working with us? We are pleased to offer the following opportunities:
BRIDAL MAGAZINE ACCOUNT MANAGERS
Adirondack Weddings, a nationally-acclaimed bridal magazine based in Plattsburgh, is seeking a local account manager to grow our client roster of the region’s best wedding professionals. As the Adirondacks’ one and only newsstand bridal magazine, we are the local wedding authority. As an account manager, you will be responsible for acquiring new quality sponsors that include local venues, florists, bakers, jewelers, photographers, and more.
• Winning personality and positive attitude; a “people person” who loves building relationships and making new friends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Must be comfortable contacting potential sponsors by phone, email, and occasionally in person
Experience not necessary for candidates who meet the above qualifications. Pluses include any or all of the following: knowledge of the local wedding market, prior ad sales experience, proficiency in the Adobe Suite, and a background in business, sales, or marketing.
As an account manager, your primary responsibility is to gain new sponsors and drive revenue. You MUST be comfortable prospecting, making cold calls, and sending email. You will quote rate packages with accuracy, keep detailed records, and report directly to the publisher on a weekly basis. Candidates must have a warm, friendly demeanor and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The account manager will also manage client contracts/payments, and serve as the point person for gathering ad materials (i.e., logos/photos/text).
We are a fun, quality brand. Our print magazine, launched in 2011, is filled with page after page of gorgeous photography and fascinating tales of love, nature, wildlife, and local history. We take pride in the unparalleled beauty of the region and the unique mission of the publication. We value and respect our readers and sponsors.
Readership and coverage region. As one of the world’s most beautiful destination wedding locations, thousands of couples from near and far marry here each year. Our readers (50,000+) perfectly represent the educated, savvy demographic that quality brands want to target. Our editorial coverage area includes the entire Adirondack Park region, from Plattsburgh and the Adirondack Coast down to Saratoga and the Capital Region, including the world-famous Adirondack towns of Lake Placid, Lake George, Saranac Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, North Creek, and Ticonderoga.
Circulation and reach. Adirondack Weddings is available on newsstands in 13 states and Canada, making it one of the world’s most widely available regional bridal magazines, and one of the only regional U.S. magazines available in Canada. We can be found on shelves at Barnes & Noble, Rite Aid, Price Chopper, Hannaford, Kinney Drugs, Big M, Mac’s Market, Wegmans, and many more. Tens of thousands of additional readers find us online, where we are #1 on Google for key search terms including “Adirondack weddings,” “ADK weddings,” and more.
Award-winning quality. Adirondack Weddings is perhaps the most celebrated regional bridal magazine in history. We’ve won two Eddies, awards which are known as one of the magazine industry’s highest honors. In winning these awards, we competed against national magazines, earning the honors over an untold number of famous newsstand titles. We’ve won numerous other awards, including design awards from the American Federation of Advertising’s Albany chapter.
