Ecofriendly, green weddings are becoming more and more important to today’s brides and grooms. If you and your significant other are environmentally conscious and love being close to nature, share this love with your guests with a wedding at The Wild Center, a museum dedicated to the preservation of wildlife within the Adirondacks.

| Adirondack Weddings Magazine

The Wild Center, a 31-acre museum in Tupper Lake, has a mission to “ignite an enduring passion for the Adirondacks where people and nature can thrive together and set an example for the world.” The landscaped grounds, which the New York Times called “stunning,” hosts weddings year-round, with multiple venue options for dining and dancing. Enjoy a ceremony at Greenleaf Pond, dinner in the Esplanade Tent, a reception under the stars surrounded by real birch trees in Big Wolf Great Hall, and bridal portraits on The Rainbow Bridge. Up to 200 of your closest family and friends can join you in celebrating a beautiful, environmental-friendly wedding at the museum, the first facility in New York to be LEED certified.

Perhaps most exciting of all, live animal exhibits can be open exclusively to your guests after regular museum hours!

What sort of live animal exhibits do they offer? I’m curious. That sounds like it would be a really unique and memorable opportunity for a wedding.

Great question, Sarah! The Wild Center is known for their adorable river otters. I believe the river otters are their primary animal exhibit.
